International Association for Accident and Traffic Medicine IAATM Logo adopted in 1975 Created by Dr. Rune Andréasson together with Prof. Georges Hoffmann and Prof. Keith A. Mant In 2000 renamed: International Traffic Medicine Association ITMA Name, 1960 – 2000: International Association for Accident and Traffic Medicine IAATM Created by Dr. Leonard Evans Logo adopted in 2000 The word accident became increasingly unacceptable in professional use. Reasons are compelling – words are important – they influence how we think. So in 2000 organization acquired a shorter pronounceable name, ITMA – not containing the unacceptable word.
