Changing the iPhone 5 from 3G mode to LTE mode

*IMPORTANT BEFORE YOU START!* iPhone MUST be charged and you MUST have access to iTunes

The first step to converting your iPhone is to put it in Recovery Mode. Please use the following steps. Turn off your device and leave it off. Turn off your device Plug in your device's USB cable to a computer with iTunes. Hold down the Home button on your device as you connect the USB cable. Keep holding down the Home button until you see the Connect to iTunes screen When you see this screen, release the Home button. If you don't see this screen, try steps 1 through 3 again.

When your device is connected, iTunes will open. You'll see a message saying that iTunes has detected an iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch in recovery mode. Click Update. Allow iPhone several minutes to update and restore to factory settings. *Some additional options may show in iTunes- click update/restore* Observe iTunes/iPhone to monitor the progress of the update. Once again, this can take several minutes. Once the iPhone has been reset, the device will say “Hello” and iTunes will give option to set up as new iPhone or restore. You may now unplug from iTunes.

*IMPORTANT!* Verify iPhone in Phoenix Log into Phoenix and go to TOOLS & CALCULATORS Select ESN Validation Enter the IMEI for the iPhone Verify if the mode is Dual Band or 4G IF MODE IS DUAL BAND- You need to call the Helpdesk for further instruction before proceeding. DO NOT SKIP THIS STEP!

The next step in converting your iPhone is to update the IMEI and SIM in Phoenix, and choose your Packages. Go to account in Phoenix. Click MDN under Wireless.Postpaid From the Dropdown menu, choose 3G/4G Mode Swap Enter the 15 digit IMEI and click VALIDATE. This may take a few seconds, but will populate the device type and available LTE plans. Next, enter the 20 digit SIM (from the back of the card provided). Choose desired LTE plan from menu. Click Save.

The next step is to insert the SIM card into your iPhone. You will open the on right hand side of the device (using a small pin or similar instrument). Remove the Nano/4FF SIM (smallest size) from the card and place face down into the tray. Put tray with SIM back into the iPhone. iPhone will take a few moments to register the SIM- the upper left will say “NO SIM”. Once SIM has been registered, it will change to “NO SERVICE”.

Now it is time to set up the iPhone. Choose language. Choose location. Set up Wi-Fi or skip by pressing NEXT in the upper right hand corner. Choose to Enable or Disable Location Services Set up as a new iPhone, Restore from iCloud Backup, or Restore from iTunes Backup Create a new Apple ID, sign in to existing Apple ID, or skip step by pressing “SKIP THIS STEP” Accept Terms and Conditions by clicking AGREE Create a 4-digit passcode or skip by clicking “DON’T ADD PASSCODE” Choose “USE SIRI” or “DON’T USE SIRI” Choose “AUTOMATICALLY SEND” or “DON’T SEND” diagnostics Click GET STARTED

CONGRATULATIONS! Your iPhone 5 is now running on the Verizon LTE Network! You should now be on the Home Page. If Wi-Fi was enabled, go to Settings and turn it off. Verify that the upper left says Verizon LTE. Proceed with test calls, text messaging, and data.
