PLAN AHEAD! Consider your options, keeping in mind the skills you want to gain – where will you go next? Research the country Seek advice from other people who have worked/studied in that country Find out about the industry/university Budget sensibly – remember to consider medical expenses, insurance, VISA fees Contact your doctor in advance

Possible Obstacles Visas and work permits UK nationals do not need a work permit to work in any of the EU member states. Most other European countries and other countries through the world require you to have a work and residence permit. http://www.workpermit.com/ http://www.workpermit.com/ Is there an immigration quota ? Check out the local embassies and consulates in advance http://www.fco.gov.uk/en/http://www.fco.gov.uk/en/ Are there health concerns ? Check with your GP in advance and make sure you get an immunisation booklet if you need one. Funding – be realistic about what you can afford (travel, living expenses etc.)
