School doors will be open at 7:10 a.m. Students are considered tardy if they are not in the classroom by the 7:40 a.m. bell Dismissal time is 2:40 p.m. Early release days dismiss at 11:40 a.m.

Homework 30 minutes a day (Monday – Thursday) Tic-Tac-Toe Menu Board for Spelling and Math Extra Reading - read to parents or read to self

Third grade has a snack break each morning after Block Class (10:15a.m.) Please send healthy snacks. Only water bottles allowed in the classroom. Please remember that we have several students with tree and peanut allergies.

Behavior management tool Positive and negative points Students earn points to receive rewards Parents can access student’s report daily

Emphasis on place value, addition and subtraction, multiplication and division, geometry and fractions Inquiry Based Learning: hands-on manipulatives, interactive activities, student collaboration, and problem solving

Language Arts Genres - variety of genres, including fantasy, fables, folktales, poetry, and biographies Inquiry Based Learning - interactive activities, student collaboration, problem solving, Guided Reading, and Reader’s Writer’s Response Journals Spelling – words will be sent home weekly in their Day Planner (should be signed daily) Social Studies - has been integrated into the Language Arts program

Science Inquiry Based Learning- hands-on experiments, interactive activities, and student collaboration Science Journal – students are expected to keep a record of their learning in their journals
