A.The Bible Claims to be the Word of God “All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness” (2 Tim 3:16) “for prophecy never came by the will of man, but holy men of God spoke as they were moved by the Holy Spirit” (2 Pet 1:21)

Evidence that the Bible is the Word of God. 1.The Unity of the Bible -Written over 1600 years in 3 languages by 40 authors of diverse backgrounds. -Writings include every form of writing – prose, poetry, letters, narrative, prophecies, parables. -Bible has perfect unity about God’s character, man’s condition and God’s plan of salvation.

Evidence that the Bible is the Word of God. 2.The Accuracy of the Bible -Accuracy in its history, geography and science. -Hundreds of detailed prophecies regarding Israel and nations around it. -Hundreds of prophecies about the Lord Jesus – regarding His birth, ministry, death and resurrection.

Evidence that the Bible is the Word of God. 3.The Concepts of the Bible -Character of God is beyond human imagination – omnipresent, omniscient, holy, infinite, eternal. -Nature of man – a tri-part being, eternal soul, and sinful nature. -Details of Salvation – God’s Son becoming a Man in order to die under the wrath of God to save us from our sins.

7. B. Evidence that the Bible is the Word of God. 4.The Bible’s Life Changing Influence -It’s influence on civilization – laws, justice, arts. -It’s influence on individual lives – its able to bring about radical change in the lives of people.

8. B. Evidence that the Bible is the Word of God. 5.The Testimony of the Resurrection -Jesus taught that Scriptures were God’s words. -Lord Jesus claimed to be God. -Demonstrated His deity by miracles. -Claimed He would rise again the 3 rd day. -God raised Jesus from the dead on the 3 rd day.

9. C. Implications if the Bible is God’s Word. 1.Permanence – Bible will never be obsolete 2.Inerrancy – Bible is completely free from errors – it is reliable. 3.Infallibility – The Bible is totally trustworthy.
