James Clark School of Engineering · University of Maryland Entrepreneur Office Hours Free monthly mentoring sessions open to UMD faculty, staff, and students and regional entrepreneurs Advisors include Mtech/Clark, Dingman/Smith, OTC, MIPLRC, experienced entrepreneurs, VCs, SBDC, TEDCO, others Help and advice with how to: – build and finance a startup company – develop and protect intellectual property – navigate the technology transfer process – refine your business strategy for rapid growth – tap into other entrepreneurial resources Second Tuesday of every month – ~15-20 appointments/walk-ins each month – 50% from campus, 50% from region – Lead generation for various Mtech venture creation programs

www.mtech.umd.edu Maryland Intellectual Property Legal Resource Center (MIPLRC) Free legal services for entrepreneurs and emerging technology companies, including: –patent applications, –prior art searches, –license agreements, –non-disclosure agreements, –company formation, and much more. MIPLRC’s offices are on campus in Mtech’s on- campus incubator building. Free and open to all.
