Biography – Personal O Born September 17, 1964 in Belfast, Ireland O Raised in Provo, Utah but also lived in South Africa and several other American cities O Attended Brigham Young University (BYU) O Starting BYU quarterback 1987 & 1988 seasons (injury ended football career), lead his team to two bowl games and selected twice as the ESPN Most Valuable Player O Graduated with Honors from BYU with a degree in English O Graduated with an MBA from Harvard School of Business O Married to Rebecca Thatcher and has five children

Biography – Professional O Former employers include: Deloitte & Touche Consulting Group, Trammell Crow Ventures and the Walt Disney Company O Currently the Senior Vice-president of Innovations and Products at Franklin Covey O Author of over a dozen inspirational books for children and teens

Covey Habits O Habits are grouped by how they affect us. O To develop a Private Victory O Follow and Use Habits #1 – 3 O To develop a Public Victory O Follow and Use Habits #4 – 6 O To be effective long term the key is Renewal O Habit #7

O Habit #1 – Be Proactive O Take responsibility for yourself O Do not blame others for decisions and actions that only belong to you O Habit #2 – Begin with the End in Mind O Define your mission and goals O Decide where you want to be and when then make a plan of action on how to get there O Habit #3 – Put First Things First O Prioritize, and do the most important things first O Decide what must be done now and get it done before you waste time on something else Private Victory

Public Victory O Habit #4 – Think Win-Win O Have an everyone-can-win attitude O Find ways for everyone involved to come out on top O Habit #5 – Seek First to Understand, Then to be Understood O Listen to people sincerely O Habit #6 – Synergize O Work together to achieve more O Do not act as if you are the only one capable of
