2. Scottish & Northern Ireland’s educational systems. Scotland:  primary phase (from 5 to 12 years) and secondary phase (from 12 to 16 years). Cycle of 7 years divided in 3 stages: P1 to P3 (stage of primary education), P4 to P5 (stage happens) and P6 and P7 (primary top stage).  The admission to the public schools takes place without any reference to the capacity or to the aptitude of the pupil.  There is not a diploma of conclusion of the primary school.  The secondary top education is given in the last two years of the secondary school (S5 and S6).  The Scotch diploma of education of top degree (SCE) is realized in one year and the examination is done at the end of S, to the age of 16 or 17 years.
