3 3 LITHUANIAN ROAD ADMINISTRATION TASKS To implement the state policy regarding the road maintenance and development formulated by the Seimas of the Republic of Lithuania. To implement the programs on road maintenance and development drafted by the Ministry of Transport and Communications. To organize the development, modernization and functioning of the network of the roads of state significance. FUNCTIONS The Lithuanian Road Administration under the Ministry of Transport and Communications is an institution established by the Government of the Republic of Lithuania; it organizes and coordinates the restoration, maintenance and development of the roads of state significance. AIMS To satisfy the needs of the society and road users. To work in an economic and efficient manner by creating proper traffic conditions, so that transport on the roads of state significance is safe, fast, convenient and environment-friendly.
