DSA Supporting information Self-assessment procedure DSA online assessment tool Peer-review procedure DSA awarded, what’s next?
3
Self-assessment procedure Self-assessment documents can be downloaded from DSA web site Evidence for each guideline should ideally be provided by means of online documentation that is openly accessible Keep in mind that the final version of the peer-reviewed self-assessment will be made publicly available on the DSA site
4
Online assessment tool Go to www.datasealofapproval.orgwww.datasealofapproval.org Click on “Apply for DSA” tab Fill out the form with contact details Once this is done, the DSA tool administrator will contact the board to look for a reviewer and enable the repository to enter the self-assessment into the online tool The tool contains all guidelines with complementary questions, minimum compliance requirements and outsourcing options
5
Online assessment tool The tool will go through the guidelines one by one, once the evidence is entered and stored by clicking “save”, one can go to a next guideline. Guidelines can also be accessed in arbitrary order by clicking on the guideline numbers at the top The assessment can be closed and picked up again at any time, as long as “save” is clicked for storing the entered evidence for the guidelines

Online assessment tool demo
7
Peer-review procedure One peer-reviewer is assigned to the assessment by the DSA board, ideally from a similar domain The reviewer gets notified by the online tool once the repository has completed and submitted the assessment The review is also done in the online tool, comments are entered in the tool and will be visible to the repository once the reviewer has completed and submitted the review
8
Peer-review procedure The repository then has the opportunity to address the comments if needed by modifying the evidence Once done, the repository submits the assessment again and the reviewer reviews the modified evidence If the reviewer is satisfied she/he awards the DSA
9
DSA awarded, what’s next? Once the DSA is awarded, the repository has the right to display the DSA logo (which links to the assessment document) on the repository site In order to achieve this, A HTML snippet will be provided that can be pasted into the repository's front page
10
DSA awarded, what’s next? The DSA is valid for at most 2 years, until the next version comes into effect The repository can re-apply for the next DSA version by modifying the evidence for changed guideline compliance requirements, if needed Further assessments according to ISO 16363 (former RAC/TRAC) or DIN 31644 (originating from NESTOR) can be undertaken, see: http://www.trusteddigitalrepository.eu/
