3 Techniques Wet-in-wet – wet pigment on wet paper – tints Wet-on-dry – wet pigment on dry paper – middle values Dry-on-dry – dry pigment on dry paper – shades

4 Techniques continued Salt – applying salt to a wash in order to get texture Saran wrap – place saran wrap over a wash to create texture Masking Fluid – rubbery solution applied to paper with a brush/rubber tool. Seals the paper to keep white highlights. Once the paint is dry, remove the masking fluid with an eraser. Miskit Friskit

5 Objectives Show clean presentation of intentional marks with watercolor techniques. Demonstrate wet-on-wet, wet-on-dry, and dry-on-dry techniques to create a full range of values. Accurately represent color as seen in your visual. Accurately create the illusion of water reflection through your choice of a water image.
