One of the oldest digital media graduate programs in the country and one of the first to offer game design as part of the curriculum Includes Ph.D. and Master’s Programs in Digital Media Undergraduate Degree in Computational Media jointly run with the College of Computing Graduates take positions at major gaming and interactive design companies, including: Walt Disney Imagineering, Electronic Arts, Maxis, Microsoft xBox group, Telltale Games, Schematic, PlayMotion!, Kaneva, MIT Gambit Lab, Eyebeam, Yahoo!, Hexagram, and others.
3
Provides both theoretical and practical foundation for careers as digital media researchers in academia and industry. The advent of a new communication medium is a significant event in human history, and introduces the possibility of new genres of artistic expression as well as new forms of information and knowledge transmission. The study of these new forms – from the point of view of the creators and the analysts – is an emerging field, one that requires a convergence of several traditional disciplines, as well defining its own research and practice.
4
Masters of Science in arts and humanities based advanced study in digital media design and critique. Faculty includes leading theorists and practitioners who approach the design of digital artifacts as a defining creative and intellectual challenge of the 21st century. Studio and seminar based curriculum which prepares graduates for leadership positions as designers, producers and critical analysts in a changing digital culture. Includes shared Human Computer Interaction program with Georgia Tech’s College of Computing.

A research community and shared lab space comprised of interdisciplinary research groups engaged in a broad array of experimentation that brings together humanities, computer science, design and the arts through a unique blend of theory and practice. Our aim is to investigate and extend the expressive capabilities of games, to foster critical analysis, and to better understand and influence the role of video games in culture. Affiliated students and faculty include Digital Media/LCC, College of Computing,College of Architecture and College of Engineering. We also partner on with other GT groups such as the GVU and the Broadband Institute.
