2 OBJECTIVES Discuss 4 healthy behaviors (Physical activity, Nutritional recommendations, Stress reduction, and Medical care and ways which can be communicated List & discuss key factors which influence population health Describe 3 ways of how not to leave behind the less literate or those with limited or no access to technology

12 STRESS REDUCTION Recognize what frazzles you most Keep a journal to track your various stressors such financial concerns, relationship woes, workplace problems as well as how you react to them Reduce stress: Try deep breathing, just taking a few deep breaths can help relax your blood vessels, yoga, tai chi, Anything that keep your mind from wandering to negative thoughts will help Meditation, praying, reading a book, and listening music Doing things that make you laugh, have fun, and make you feel relaxed Taking classes or involvement in hobbies like music, painting, knitting Attending support groups or counseling Main point is that you make time every day to relax and check out

13 MEDICAL CARE Having regular medical check up and follow-up Knowing health improvement activities such as screening tests (breast exam/mammogram, Pap smear/cervical screening, dental care) Knowing that there is information and guidance for wellness program (smoking, alcohol use, drug use) Knowing what symptoms to look for and when to contact a member of your health care team when one has a health problem Taking your medications as directed Addressing root causes of chronic health condition (Diabetes, Cancer, etc.)

Evaluate user’s understanding before, during, and after the introduction of information and services. Acknowledge cultural differences and practice respect.
