INTACS STANDARDS Standard #9: Professional Learning and Ethical Practice The teacher engages in ongoing professional learning and uses evidence to continually evaluate his/her practice, particularly the effects of his/her choices and actions on others (learners, families, other professionals, and the community), and adapts practice to meet the needs of each learner. Description: This power point is to show why I have chosen this path and how I plan to contribute to it. Rationale: To let you know how standard #9 fits into this presentation and to let people know the qualities I possess for this path I have chosen.

WHY DO I WANT TO BECOME A TEACHER? I love children. Being a substitute teacher is the biggest reason why I want to teach. The joy of seeing a child light up when they finally get it.

WHAT TRAITS OF EFFECTIVE TEACHERS DO I POSSESS? patience organization Do not like to make learning boring Come up with activities to do in a moments notice

WHAT ARE THE CHARACTERISTICS OF THE STUDENTS I WANT TO TEACH? They can be special needs, elementary level, or secondary level. It does not matter on their background. I am willing to teach any student.

WHAT ARE THE CHARACTERISTICS OF THE COMMUNITY WHERE I WANT TO TEACH? I would prefer to teach in a rural or suburban, but as long as there is a willingness from the staff to help one another I will teach there.

CONTRIBUTIONS TO THE PROFESSION I like parent participation, especially in the classroom. I will be flexible with my hours before and after school for my students.
