Educational Requirement The extent of the education needed for a career in photography depends upon the individual's goals. Good technical abilities, knowledge of equipment and vocational training or an associate's degree might suffice for some positions at the outset of a career. Photography provides more options for a career and for advancement; bachelor's degrees typically include art, business, marketing and other courses to round out one's education. A polished portfolio, which is often a requirement for graduation, is another benefit of a bachelor's degree program.

Classes and Internships Photography courses cover technical aspects of handling cameras and taking photographs. Subjects covered in this coursework include applicable photograph techniques, photography history and photography theory. Specific areas of study for photographers are available in specialized coursework such as advertising and commercial photography, wedding and portraiture photography, editorial and corporate photography, visual journalism, fine art photography or fashion photography. Obtaining practical work experience while enrolled in school also helps photographers prepare for this field. In addition to internships and related summer jobs, school newspapers, magazines, newsletters, yearbooks and clubs can provide opportunities to have photographs published or displayed.

Career Details After finishing school with a good educational foundation, photographers can enter into the workforce and continue learning from employers and other professionals. Starting as an assistant to a professional photographer allows one to pick up skills and tricks and develop work skills. Photographers can create electronic portfolios and maintain a website to show off work samples to the world, potentially catching the eyes of employers.

Photographer Qualifications To become a professional photographer, the people you know and the experience you have play the most important roles as compared to education. However, most photographers take up photography courses in order to facilitate the development of their technical skills. In press photography, however, a degree in photojournalism is usually required.

College that offer the project Boston University: Boston Photojournalism Program: Students are taught with an emphasis on experiential learning in this prestigious program. Graduates have gone on to become Pulitzer Prize winners and pursue careers in new media, the newspaper and magazine industry, and more. Maryland Institute College of Art: Baltimore Undergraduate Photography program: Students learn the basics of photography in this program while completing seminars, internships and more. The program also teaches skills in professional development, and alumni have gone on to work in studios, digital printing, documentary photography and other pursuits.

How is the job market looking for photographer? And is it a growing or shrinking field? Photography is a competitive market, so you will need to stand out from the crowd if you want to be successful in the industry. Why so much competition for photography jobs? One reason is people are pouring into photography careers because they think it’s a fascinating way of combining work with an enjoyable art form. Portrait photography, however, should flourish due to population growth creating increased demand for portraits, the Bureau said. Another industry that may see more hiring is online versions of newspapers, journals and newspapers which will need photographers to provide art to accompany online articles, according the to the Bureau.

About photographer for myself I think it will be around for many years to come. If I want to be a photographer, I will go to a better university in the U.S.. And I willing to relocate for photographer. And for other factors, I think I need consider for money to pay for it.
