Getting Started Each Tuesday and Thursday, we walk down to the music room for band. Not every kid is in band, but there are still about 30 of them! We walk into the room and put together our instruments. Each instrument has its own sound and pitch. They also have different fingering and notes.

Requirements These are the requirements that are needed in band: You must be in 5 th grade You need to pick and rent your own instrument. You have to buy your own book.

Different Instruments Here are the instruments in the Chinook Trail band: Flute Clarinet Trumpet Baritones Trombones
5
Flutes & Clarinets The flutes have the highest pitch in band. There are seven kids who play the flute. It was hard to play the flute at first, but we got the hang of it by the end of September. The clarinets are the second highest pitch in band. They have different notes because the instrument has lower tones. The instruments may squeak, but the students still have talent.
6
Trumpets The trumpet is the instrument most played in band. (They’re also the loudest!)They have a pitch that sounds lower than the flutes and clarinets. They also have the same notes as the clarinets.

&Trombones (low brass) The baritones & trombones (also known as low brass) have the lowest tone in band. The baritones & trombones share the same fingering & notes. The baritones have buttons just like the trumpets, but the trombone has a sliding tube.
