3. Determine Military Time
Military time is required because a Soldier’s day is 24 hours, unlike normal civilian days.
The U.S. Army tells time by using the numbers 1 to 24, which represent 24 hours in a day.
A day begins at one minute after midnight and ends at midnight the same day.
An easy way to remember how to convert civilian time into military time is to add 12 hours to the time if it’s past 12 noon. For example: If the civilian time is 6:53 p.m., you would add 12 to 6 and say the military time as 1853 hours.

Zulu Time is also known as Greenwich Mean Time and Universal Time (UTC). The time in Greenwich, England. Location of Prime Meridian. Zero degrees longitude.
