2. Inspectors of the Consumer Protection Office in Ploiesti found a lot of dirt, flies and mold in a company that produced homeopathic medicines and food supplements. The raw material was stored in rooms full of insects, and there were no documents for the prescriptions, authorities declare. The small factory was closed for half a year, and the company representatives have criminal prosecution files. They refused to make any declaration. When they entered the storeroom of the factory that trades products under the Medicer Bios trademark, the inspectors felt the stench like that of a dirty pub: barrels with ill-smelling substances, swarms of flies around the future “wonder medicines” and, above all, a lot of dirt. It has to be mentioned that pills, tinctures, syrups or cosmetic creams were produced in that location and sold as herbal medicines manufactured in impeccable conditions. But the company representatives made a stupefying declaration. They claimed that the whole merchandise of over 20 tons was destined for their own consumption.

The policemen confiscated 24 tons of semi-prepared material and 40 tons of raw material for which there were no documents showing their origin. “The products found did not meet the quality requirements and the storage and trading conditions”, says chief inspector Daniel Radu, the I.J.P. Prahova spokesman.

4. Being accused of tax evasion, falsification of products and fraud, the company representatives refused to make any declaration regarding the inspection and non-conformances found. The company that manufactured homeopathic medicines did not work in conformance with the law, the fact that it produced medicines in miserable conditions being a violation of the law regarding the safety of human health. Moreover, the employees who manufactured the medicines did not even know what prescription they used for their manufacturing, so that by their negligence they endangered the health of the people who requested the medicines produced by them. This company has to be closed and the individuals responsible for such a non-conformity should be sanctioned.
