5 fallacies of arguments 1.Straw Man 2.Ad Hominem 3.Tu Quoque 4.Slippery Slope 5.False Dilemma - misrepresenting/ distorting the opponent’s argument - attacking the opponent themselves instead of the argument - justifying your argument because other people did it too - jumping to unlikely/ distant consequences to be more dramatic - restricting the options to be more dramatic

Chain game- 2 teams! You are each given a piece of paper with two sections You must make a circle chain matching up your fallacy to the previous person’s argument. First team in the correct order wins! Example: Ad Hominem I should get a merit because Jo got one! Tu Quoque If you start smoking you will end up a drug addict! Homework- make a poster! Design a poster for one of the fallacy types come up with a logo/ caption picture for that fallacy definition for that fallacy type and examples Due next lesson!
