LightSquared Issue: LightSquared LLC has purchased spectrum for terrestrial and satellite-based Wi-Fi –$4B invested since 2004 Through spectrum swaps and waivers, plan to develop 40,000 terrestrial stations in the L band, just below GPS frequencies GPS is 90 dB below LS signals –Effectively shuts down civilian GPS over most urban areas FCC has received thousands of comments; stay tuned 11 27 Jan 2012
