Main Religion: Buddhism Buddhists do not believe in a god. They follow the teachings of Buddha who is depicted in the sculpture above. They believe in a cycle of rebirth meaning that after you die you may be born again into another life. They also believe in karma which is the idea that when you do good deeds, good things will happen to you but when you take bad actions, bad things will happen to you.

Main Language: Chinese The Chinese language is written in characters rather than letters. The characters are written in vertical columns and the columns are read from right to left.

Chinese New Year Chinese New Year is the most important traditional Chinese holiday. It is also called the Spring Festival. It is celebrated with family meals, parades, gifts, and fire works.

Mid-Autumn Festival This is also known as the Moon Festival. It celebrates the harvest and is held in September or October during a full moon. People celebrate by eating moon cakes, decorating with lanterns, gathering with family, and performing dances.

The Chinese Zodiac is a calendar system that assigns animals to different years. The Chinese Zodiac follows a 12-year cycle.
