CHOOSING SCHOOLS AND MAJORS APPLY BROADLY. READ THE MAJOR AND ALTERNATE INSTRUCTIONS CAREFULLY. DECLARATION OF A MAJOR IS A FACTOR AT MANY UC CAMPUSES. READ WEBSITES CAREFULLY TO DETERMINE FOR SPECIFICS. PRINT A COPY OF YOUR APPLICATION SUBMISSION CONFIRMATION. WHAT ABOUT WAITLISTS? UNLIKE THE CSU, YOU WILL SUBMIT A SINGLE APPLICATION TO THE UC SYSTEM, WITH YOUR CAMPUS SELECTIONS MARKED IN THE APPROPRIATE AREA.

A Message From UC Faculty While it is acceptable to receive feedback or helpful suggestions, applicants’ personal statements should reflect their own ideas and be written by them alone

Instructions Two questions Students respond to both questions. –A maximum of 1,000 words total –Applicants must stay within the 1,000 word limit, or an error message will appear! Students choose length of each response –If they choose to respond to one prompt at greater length, we suggest the shorter answer be no less than 250 words.

Prompt #1 Describe the world you come from- for example, your family, community or school- and tell us how your world has shaped your dreams and aspirations.

Prompt #2 Tell us about a personal quality, talent, accomplishment, contribution or experience that is important to you. What about this quality or accomplishment makes you proud and how does it relate to the person you are?

Additional Comments Use Additional Comments box for clarification, expansion on important details –Additional names –Visa issues –Additional IB exams Describe anything else that you have not had the opportunity to include elsewhere in your application –500 word limit

WHAT TO DO NEXT? MAKE APPOINTMENTS TO SEE YOUR COUNSELOR FOR APPLICATION REVIEW. YOU WILL LEARN OF YOUR ACCEPTANCES IN MARCH. PAY ATTENTION TO ALL HOUSING AND FINANCIAL AID DEADLINES. FILE THE FAFSA IN JANUARY. ATTEND THE NPHS FINANCIAL WORKSHOP ON JANUARY 27 th AT 7 P.M.
