6. Los Falles The “fallas” are a Valencian tradition celebrated at the time of Easter. Sections of Valencia have their own Casal Faller that works year-round for this celebration. People make big statues out of wood, then burns them on Easter. At midnight, the largest statue, sometimes standing 5 stories high, is burned. The previously lit statues and this one create a scene throughout the city to appear that it is burning down. In Valencia, fire insurance is the thing to have.

9. Coastal lines Valencia is often paired up with Murcia. Together, they have more than half of Spain’s eastern coast.
