Wednesday, October 22, 2003 9 THE VALUE OF SCORM SCORM (Sharable Content Object Reference Model) –A suite of technical standards that enable web-based learning systems to find, import, share, reuse, and export learning content in a standardized way –Built on AICC, IMS, IEEE, ARIADNE, Dublin Core primarily for vendors and toolmakers who build Learning Management Systems (LMS) and learning content authoring tools –Specifications include metadata, XML binding for metadata tags, content packaging (XML “manifest” that defines all the contents and their relationship to one another for the LMS).
