Third International Port Meteorological Officer Hamburg 2006 Singapore’s port is one of the most busiest in the world. Average about 80 to 100 ship arrivals daily at Singapore’s port. Last year we received 19,130 ship reports via Inmarsat. Meteorological service has a vital role to play to support the shipping industry.

Third International Port Meteorological Officer Hamburg 2006 PMO duty Supervision of matters pertaining to the work of gathering ship’s reports. Checking of meteorological instruments and calibration of aneroid barometer. Provides advice, and instructions to the observer. Recruiting & supply of stationery to VOS fleet. We also help other countries in recruiting & supplying of stationery to their VOF.

Third International Port Meteorological Officer Hamburg 2006 Director-General highlighted the importance of VOS programme and Singapore’s contribution. PMO & business section will work together to promote the VOS programme. Looking towards publishing a Marine Climate summary. As world economy improves, we see more shipping activities in our ports. Good time to strengthen and increase our VOS fleet.
