2 Teamwork- is working as a group to perform a task on time.

3 To be an effective team, group members must: Organize jobs – decide who will complete each task Cooperate – ask for help or support someone who needs help Communicate – talk about recipes, warn of potential safety hazards, and update teachers and teammates on progress of meal Take responsibility – learn and perform tasks and do it carefully and efficiently

4 Benefits of teamwork Shares tasks to be accomplished Teaches members to organize, cooperate, communicate, and take responsibility

5 Work Plan –a list of tasks involved in planning food preparation to produce quality, healthy food products so they may be served at the appropriate time.

6 Work Plan Select, read, and interpret recipes – important to determine equipment needs, ingredients, preheating, cooking time and preparation techniques. List preparation tasks – starting with tasks for preparing each recipe, then other tasks such as table setting and gathering food and equipment.

7 Work Plan Develop a timetable – a timetable shows the total time needed to complete preparation tasks and time to start each one; serves as a basis for a work plan. Make and carry out the work plan – list tasks in a chronological order according to start times Evaluate the work plan – changes to be made for the next time.
