Rough sketches or mind maps can work well for brainstorming phases. (My rough sketches are so messy I don’t show them to anyone.) Rough Sketches (experiments)

Comps – Rough and Final Rough “comps” or draft compositions allow you to experiment with ideas and media without spending the time to polish them. You can show them to a client before they have to pay a lot of money for you to create something.

Watercolors and markers (techniques)techniques Watercolors are creative and flexible for rendering ideas. - Adding water makes colors lighter. - Working dryer makes colors darker. - Create a wet area before applying watercolors and let each area dry before moving on, unless you want the colors to merge. Using watercolors with black marker outlines (after they dry) can be easy ways to render creative ideas. Cutting out shapes can be a creative option.
