8 For-profit Funding Streams  Extremely reliant on federal financial aid.  The two largest streams are Title IV funds (which include loans and Pell grants) and the GI Bill  For-profits receive an out-sized share of that aid relative to enrollment: Title IV Funds: Enrolled 13% of students but rec’d 25% of funds G.I. Bill Funds: Enrolled 25% of veterans but rec’d 37% of funds

10 HELP Committee Findings: Part Time Faculty  In fall 2011 there were nearly 1.2 M faculty at Title IV eligible schools.  Report notes high rates of part- time faculty: Bridgepoint 98.3% Grand Canyon University 96.1%  Report questioned whether model allows faculty to: Exercise genuine academic independence Have a vested stake in the quality of the institution High Proportion of Part-Time Faculty
