Active at AMO NOMA has three members on the AMO Board of Directors President is active member of AMO Executive Committee and MOU Committee Member on AMO Energy Taskforce

Meetings with Ministers Mining Developments across the region Growth Plan for Northern Ontario Forest Tenure The Endangered Species Act and its impacts on forestry activities The importance of the OMPF and Mitigation funding The Far North Act Electricity Generation and Transmission Upgrades Non-urgent Patient Transportation Infrastructure needs including roads and bridges funding “Pause” on Thunder Bay Generating Station conversion

2012 AGM NOMA 2012 AGM in Kenora attended by over 215 delegates & guests Presentations and discussions ▫ Mining ▫ Forestry ▫ Drugs in our Communities ▫ Health Professionals recruitment ▫ Ministers Forum

2012 NW Regional Conference Held in September Partnership with Ministry of Municipal Affairs & Housing, Northwestern Ontario Associated Chamber of Commerce,Northwestern Ontario Development Network “Ready to Grow” theme set positive tone for discussions

Regional Decision Making Liberal leadership process provided opportunity to advocate for increased regional decision making for Northern Ontario Will continue to raise this issue to all parties – hope to make this a priority issue in the next Ontario election

OGRA/ROMA Meetings held with ▫ Premier Wynne, Ministers of Municipal Affairs & Housing, Natural Resources, Transportation & Infrastructure, Energy, Northern Development & Mines, Aboriginal Affairs, and Rural Affairs, ▫ Tim Hudak, Leader of Ontario PC Party ▫ NDP Caucus members

Our Key Ask “To ensure a balanced approach, I call on the Government of Ontario to conduct transparent socio-economic impact assessments prior to decisions being made on all new or revised legislation, regulations and policies that may impact forestry.”
