-8- 2010 Sunday of Hope recap More than 117 Kappa alumni and undergraduate chapters participated in the program through securing churches and chapter donations. More than 136 churches collected donations for St. Jude with an average contribution of $1,718. In total, more than $340,000 was raised with 83 percent of the donations raised through church participation. -10- 2010 Middle Eastern Province Involvement Last spring, 7 chapters in the Middle Eastern Province participated by securing churches or making donations. For the 2010 program, the Middle Eastern Province raised more than $9,265. Four churches participated and raised $5,265. The top fundraising church was Union Baptist Church secured by Winston-Salem Alumni. In total, the Middle Eastern Province chapters have donated more than $30,769 in the past three years. Last spring, 7 chapters in the Middle Eastern Province participated by securing churches or making donations. For the 2010 program, the Middle Eastern Province raised more than $9,265. Four churches participated and raised $5,265. The top fundraising church was Union Baptist Church secured by Winston-Salem Alumni. -11- Sunday of Hope™ The 4 th annual Sunday of Hope program will launch in January 2011. Chapters should coordinate with churches to host the Sunday of Hope events on one Sunday during the months of January – April. Each alumni and undergraduate chapter is asked to secure at least one church. The goal for each church secured is to raise at least $2,000. To assist in securing a church, St. Jude will provide Kappa members with sales materials and other St. Jude information. St. Jude will provide a kit of materials for the event.
