The Story In a twist on many video games, in which a human discovers an alien world, Alien eXplore sees the player as the chief scout of an alien race. Arriving on planet Earth they must observe, gather data, collect different bonuses and report back on the main facets of human life.

The Game Combining mobile technology with augmented reality Alien eXplore gives you the opportunity to discover as much as you can about the world around you. This is broken down into four main categories: The Natural World – Plants, animals, the human body and even naturally occurring phenomena such as snow flakes. Man Made Structures – From architecture and engineering wonders to ancient landmarks. Art and Literature – This encompasses art forms that have been printed or written down. Technology – Vehicles, machines and much more. Each category has missions with 3 difficulty levels depending on the time and distance you are willing to go. For each completed mission you can receive medals such as ‘Nature Explorer’, ‘Aggressor’ and many more.
5
Single Player Invasions can be played as one offs or in story mode, so that one leads to another dependent on your location. This means you get to experience even your own back garden in the most exciting new way – go hunting for bugs, collect flowers or explore the tool shed! The GPS function of your device means that if you are overseas then you will have access to a whole new set of missions specific to the country that you are in. This makes the game a great way to explore a new city – alone or with family and friends.
6
Multiplayer You can also connect with friends and play co-op missions together against other teams. When you are playing either single or multiplayer you can join in the Global Invasions. After you’ve collected all the data for a certain location the GPS will mark it as alien territory. This will allow progression in the game as well as an increase in difficulty just like a traditional video game – you can start with taking over your own house and then move to the street, neighbourhood or even the whole town.
7
The Platforms The game can be played on a mobile phone, tablet or wearable technology such as Google Glass; using either the lens or the glasses points are awarded based on the images the player sees as part of their ‘invasion’. Once you complete a mission you receive a medal.
8
Connect & Share Connectivity – The game connects with websites that can provide information on the things you are looking at – such as Wikipedia – give ideas about places to visit which are similar to those you have seen – E.G. Tripadvisor – and any websites which are specific to places you are viewing. Shareability – While playing the game you can opt in to share your experience, including location and pictures you’ve taken with your friends via Facebook, Twitter or Pinterest. You can also show off your badges and collection of specimens.

The Market The game can be set at varying degrees of difficulty so that it is perfect as a way of showing younger players the wonder that is all around them; getting teens out of the house while still playing video games and even giving adults information on places they visit in a new and unusual way.
