Rhode Island Electronic Portfolio System (RIEPS) Solution Earlier version of Goal Management tool from Syracuse University integrated with Assignments tool Portfolio tools provisional in Sakai 2.1 release – July 2006 Decision to implement portfolio using assignments instead of matrices Graduation Portfolio uses improved portfolio tool in the form of matrix – Fall 2006 Reports use available functionality but require additional java coding and database work OSP 2.4 will integrate majority of RIEPS enhancements into code

RIEPS Goal Management State standards and district expectations available via Global Goal Management tool Teachers link each assignment to any number of goals Teachers rate student work on assignments according to linked standards and expectations Students view ratings and revised as permitted

RIEPS Graduation Portfolio One general portfolio template resembling matrix Each district customizes template according to their requirements Assignment data available across all sites Students repurpose rated assignments according to district requirements, add reflective statements, and submit portfolio for graduation

RIEPS Reports Report templates for aggregating rated assignments and graduation portfolios –Student report to identify available assignments for Grad Portfolio –Teacher report to assess student learning across courses –District report to assess student learning in one school or the district Assignment and portfolio data combined with student information parameters Data to be displayed, archived, shared, printed, and exported
