Faculty of Mechanical Engineering International Funding Islamic Development Bank A grant of $146,000 under technical assistance project for the FME to purchase of sophisticated equipments such as Thermal Imager (ThermaCAM) 3D-Laser Scanner Non-contact Laser displacement Setup High Speed Data-Logging System FME will upgrade the facilities to meet the requirement of graduate students and researchers in the field of design.

Faculty of Mechanical Engineering A Framework of Strengthening Asian Higher Education on Advanced Design and Manufacture’ (730,584 Euros by the European Commission) International Funding Asia Link Program To develop a framework solution to engineering higher education demands in Asia, by developing a new curriculum in Advanced Engineering Design and Manufacture for Asian and European MSc education upgrading the skills of university teaching staff in Bangladesh, Pakistan and China split training Asian PhD students in European Institutions comparing educational policies / systems / programs among various countries enhancing the overall management of Asian Universities.

Faculty of Mechanical Engineering International Funding Pak-US Collaboration between University of Illinois at Chicago (UIC) USA and GIKI Pakistan (US$419,479) Development of a large scale computational facility at GIKI Train faculty, students and industry practitioners on the use of computational methods in design and analysis of contemporary products. Development of an interdisciplinary computational mechanics curriculum at GIKI. Establishment of a recurring international symposium, a regular seminar series, and tutorial sessions on computational mechanics and large scale simulations. Development of infrastructure for liaison with industry.
