10 Department Training Requirements MCJA requires 20 hrs of training for each officer/yr, including reserves Officers must past gun qualifications yearly – Best to complete two qualifications per year Officers must complete intoxilyzer recertification every two years Officers must complete Taser recertification every year

11 Department Union Contract Requirement The current union contract requires a 2% wage adjustment for officers effective July 1, 2015 FY 2015 Wages = $221,348 FY 2016 Wages with 2% increase = $218,061 Actual decrease of $3,287 Lower wage level in FY 2016 due to loss of Sgt’s position Union Contract Expires December 31, 2015
