African American Asian American Hispanic American Gay and Lesbian Women’s Initiatives Work/Life Strategy Throughout Accenture, we have a strong mentoring program. In addition to the overall mentoring programs that all employees have access to, several more initiatives are in place to support minorities. Mentoring Program for Women: improve the advancement and retention of our experienced female managers by pairing them with partner and associate partner mentors (female or male), outside of their direct reporting relationship. The purpose of this relationship is to provide a forum where ideas, questions and concerns regarding professional and personal development are openly discussed. Executive women can be paired with partner mentors who are available to share advice and provide guidance. Minority Mentoring Program: minority executives are aligned with a leadership partner/mentor for the purpose of candid dialogue and guidance on career issues. Career Path PARTNER/ASSOCIATE PARTNER SENIOR MANAGER SENIOR MANAGER/
Entrepreneurial Skills SENIOR MANAGER Industry Skills SENIOR MANAGER/ MANAGER Managerial Skills Administrative Skills We have already looked at the responsibilities of a new analyst, however, let’s take a brief look at career progression. As you progress through your career, your responsibilities will also increase. Performance is reviewed annually and you will be able to highlight your achievements and gain others’ feedback on your work. The next step after analyst is the consultant level. Point out If asked how much time is spent at each level, it varies depending on performance and business need. Typical timeframes are 2 years for Analysts, 3 years for Consultants, and 3-4 years for Managers to reach the Senior Manager promotion point. Also, not everyone will be eligible or interested in reaching the top levels. Regardless, there are opportunities for continued growth. The Consulting Analyst
Roles and responsibilities: Build industry skills Develop technology-based solutions Analyze, design and implement business process improvements Define user requirements Gain and specialize skills in: Business process design Business validation concepts Testing and quality assurance System building concepts Programming and development So how does the entry-level consulting analyst fit in? Consulting analysts usually work on one client engagement at a time right at the client site, alongside other people at their organization. The team size varies based on the project but traditionally consists of a client Partner lead and other consultant/manager level people. Responsibilities can vary across client engagements. On any given day, an analyst may expect to build and leverage skills like those seen on this slide. Point out We don’t require that individuals have technical experience, but an interest. Our training will help them get up to speed. Technical skills are truly the building block in an analyst’s career development. They need to have a solid understanding of how a system is constructed, right down to the programming and coding. This in turn significantly helps them down the road in doing a better job designing a system and then, ultimately, actually managing the development of a system. So, these technical skills are nurtured in your first few years and will provide a solid platform for future performance and development. Copyright © 2004 Accenture All Rights Reserved.

No Typical Day! Training & Development Build Technical Skills Project
Assignments Communities Exposure To Leadership All of our people will tell you there is no typical day at Accenture. Analysts begin their career by going through formal and informal training. Details further along in presentation. While there are a lot of hot technologies out there, there may be times where analysts could be programming in a language that has been around for a while. It’s all part of the learning process. Our goal is to have analysts begin on programming assignments so they can really build and deepen their technical skills. However, there may be some non-programming assignments available, such as working on internal projects or client proposals. Being involved in the internal Accenture community and company-wide initiatives is also a part of all of our people’s daily life. Participation in areas outside of the direct line of work is highly encouraged for your own personal growth. Please provide personal experience with civic involvement. During all of this, everyone has exposure to management. We have an ‘open door’ policy that is conducive to getting to know people and forging meaningful relationships with people at all levels. Our culture fosters mentoring, and the project team structure enables that to happen. Peers can provide a stimulating teamwork environment. Teamwork Copyright © 2004 Accenture All Rights Reserved.
