Why do we have assemblies? Our school is so large that it’s easy to lose track of what makes us special Students are the real reason why our school is great; assemblies are a way to honor the great things students do in and out of the classroom Assemblies are a great way to build a sense of community and school spirit
6
How can you show PRIDE during assemblies? Show enthusiasm and school spirit Listen and participate at appropriate times Show respect during National tributes by standing quietly
7
Ask yourself…Ask yourself… How would you feel if your friend/team/club was being recognized? How would you want the audience to behave? How do you want visitors to view David Douglas High School?
8
Remember… Every assembly is packed with announcements and activities, which must happen in a short amount of time Assemblies are a privilege Assemblies are opportunities to show your school and class spirit in a fun, positive way
