2 We can use an ‘s to show possession in English. Juan’s pen  But, in Spanish there is NO apostrophe! We use DE to show possession. La pluma de Juan In Spanish and English, you can also use a POSSESSIVE ADJECTIVE to show possession.

3 A possessive adjective tells what belongs to someone or shows a relationship Examples: Her book Whose book? my sister How are they related?

4 The possessive adjectives in Español are: my your (i) his/her/ your (f) our y’alls Their you all’s mi mis tu tus su sus nuestr@ nuestr@s su sus vuestr@ vuestr@s

5 All adjectives, even POSSESSIVE adjectives must match the noun in GENDER &NUMBER mi profesora nuestros libros

6 POSSESSIVE ADJECTIVES must go BEFORE the noun they describe!!!!!! Usually in Spanish the adjective goes AFTER the noun it describes. His cat: _______ gato The black : ___ gato _______ cat su negro el
