G ROUP RESPONSE : W HAT WE DO Get in small group… What we do now Music Rhythm Movement “Creative expression” Interpretive We do… Rhythm sticks & songs that are percussion type songs Scarf dances Parachute with whatever song they like to listen to Music for transition – lunch: jazz, etc. Sing to dismiss children from Circle Time: “Michelle, jump up and down (repeat), now go wash your hands.” Music playing in the background Books that aren’t songs but are fun to “sing” – rhyming or pattern books (but sometimes others) 1 action song at the beginning of Circle Time We say hello with a “What color are your socks song” (kids wear cool socks for this) Instruments – teachers & tots parade Instruments available all day throughout the classroom Sometimes they form a rock band
