History of Lincoln Memorial
Institution was chartered by the State of Tennessee in 1897 as Lincoln Memorial University. Now has over 10 extended sites, main site is the Harrogate site. Has several growing professional programs including the newest, Veterinary Medicine

Rural area of Tennessee about 50 miles from Knoxville. Approximately 4,000 students (undergraduate, graduate, professional)

The College of Veterinary Medicine
The first class will be in 2014. Implemented hands on work starting the first semester. Strongly tied to One Health- optimizing the health of animals, people and the environment. Selective outreach service activities, and collaborative research with the human medical community.

More Information LMU does not have Teaching Hospital
BUT, Instead, LMU will place the students in ‘real world’ clinical settings Large Animal Teaching and Research Center- 1,000 acre facility for education, research and service. Students will work at this facility years 1-3.

Minimum 2.8 GPA to apply Pre-requisite courses GRE scores- Verbal, Quantitative, and Analytic

In Quarter Units: 10 units Biology with lecture and lab 4 units of Genetics lecture 4 units of Biochemistry lecture 8 units of ‘advanced’ biology- Anatomy, Cell Biology, Immunology, Microbiology, Molecular Biology, Physiology, Virology 10 units of Organic Chemistry lecture and lab 10 units of Inorganic Chemistry lecture and lab 4 units of Physics- no lab needed 4 units of Statistics

Cont. Courses 8 units of English 4 units speech communication
4 units of History- World History preferred 8 units of Social and Behavioral Sciences- Anthropology, Economics, Philosophy, Political Science, Sociology etc.

Admissions Process 1. Apply to LMU by completing the ‘on-line’ admissions through VMCAS. (By October 2nd) 2. Complete the LMU supplemental material (the rest by November 30th) 3. Official Transcripts 4. GRE- Verbal, Quantitative, and Analytic 5. PPI’s- Personal Potential Index- Electronic submissions of 4 letters through Educational Testing Services: A. Veterinarian B. University Faculty C. University Faculty OR Veterinarian D. Previous or Current employer

Interviews Invited to interview based on application
Half hour interview with an admissions committee member.

Cost Tuition will range from $40,000 to $46,000 over the 4 years.
