How to Use This CBT The following graphics are designed to help you to navigate through this Computer Based Training. To Print this CBT EXIT If you would like to print this CBT: Return to the DCS web page. Right click on the link to the CBT and choose “Save Target As…” Choose a location on your computer to save the file and click OK. Go to Start, Programs, Microsoft PowerPoint. Choose “Open an Existing Presentation”. Choose the CBT file that you saved above. Choose File, Print from the menu.

Overview A new placement type called ‘Self-Sufficient’ has been created to allow case managers to make a new placement for post custody or custody clients who are old enough to live on their own while attending school, working etc… To enter a ‘Self-Sufficient’ placement the client must have an active Post-Custody case or the client must have an active Custody case and be 18 years or older. Use of the ‘Self-Sufficient’ placement should be decided at the Child and Family Team Meeting. EXIT

Placement Icon The user will double click on the Placements Icon located at the case detail line. EXIT

Adding a Self-Sufficient Placement To enter a new placement right click and select ‘Add Placement Location’. EXIT

Adding Placement Location The user will select ‘New Placement Location’ and click OK. EXIT

The user will select ‘In- Home’ and click OK. EXIT Add Placement Location

Select Placement Type EXIT The user will enter the date and select ‘Self-Sufficient’ from the placement type drop down list.

Previous Placement Program Completed The system will enter the Service Setting, AFCARS Setting, Location, Address and ID information. The user will Select ‘Yes’ or ‘No’ from the Completed drop down list. The user will then click OK. Please refer to the Discharge Reasons training document. EXIT

Adding a Self-Sufficient Placement The placement is added to the client’s record. The user will also notice six additional tabs. These tabs are read only for the case manager. EXIT

Reports There are no reports specific to this placement type, although many existing reports will report on this new placement type.
