How many resources get destroyed within a year? How is fast food made and why is it so fast? How can food deserts impact people’s health?

4. What are genetically modified foods and how do they impact me? How safe are they? Should we label GM foods? What is the difference between genetically modified food and genetically engineered? What are the benefits and detriments? What can golden rice do and other foods like this? How can humans be affected by a growth hormone in cows? How do GM food compare with organic?

5. How do we grow food? What factors affect the price of food? How much does it “cost” to eat? What factors affect food availability?  Less land (agricultural practices, more people)  Less water (drought, dust bowl, water cycle)  Climate change (weather patterns, hurricanes, flooding)

You will work with a partner after each video to answer the questions.

Write a paper (one page) that expresses your opinion on whether genetically modified seeds can or should be used in sustainable farming practices.
