NGO Council 8 th April 2006 Who can form an LACG? Interested citizens’ / citizen groups Owners / occupiers of residential, institutional or commercial premises Existing ALMs, Resident Associations, CBOs, other associations, etc.

NGO Council 8 th April 2006 Steps to form an LACG Form a group of citizens Decide area to be represented (full or part) Collect application format and map from Ward Offices Submit the filled applications to Ward Officers before 31 st May 2006

NGO Council 8 th April 2006 Role of Citizens Monitor and resolve civic issues in partnership with MCGM Provide suggestions and regular feedback about the system Act as agents of MCGM to implement various schemes in their area

NGO Council 8 th April 2006 Role of LACG Committee To act as representatives of citizens in their area To disseminate information and serve as a link between MCGM and citizens To attend meetings at Councillor Ward level and above, as required

NGO Council 8 th April 2006 Role of Ward Officers Appoint Nodal Officers To provide the MCGM-LACG Charter, application formats and ward maps to citizens Decide upon the venues for LACG meetings at Councillor Ward level Attend the Ward level LACG meetings

NGO Council 8 th April 2006 Apex LACG Committee MC, 4 Additional MCs, Chief Nodal Officer, 5 NGO Council representatives and 5 LACG representatives Hold meetings every 2 months Policy formulation, implementation, status review and resolution of unresolved complaints at overall level
