THE LEVITICAL OFFERINGS Introduction. Lev. chs. 1 - 7 cp. Heb. 10:1-14 [1, 8, 5, 6, 14] The Study of the Shadow after knowing the Substance. For the law having a shadow of good things to come, and not the very image of the things, can never with those sacrifices which they offered year by year continually make the comers thereunto perfect… For it is not possible that the blood of bulls and of goats should take away sins. Wherefore…He saith, Sacrifice and offering Thou wouldest not, but a body hast Thou prepared Me: In burnt offerings and sacrifices for sin Thou hast had no pleasure. Then said I, Lo, I come (in the volume of the book it is written of Me,) to do Thy will, O God.

P. THE PRACTICAL CONSIDERATIONS – The Believer's Burnt Offering. Rom. 12:1 “BE WELL-PLEASING TO GOD": 1. Serve Christ in Consideration for others. Rom. 14:16, 18, RV Let not then your good be evil spoken of:…For he that in these things serveth Christ is acceptable to God, and approved of men.

Phil. 4:18, RV 2.Minister to the needs of God's Servants. But I have all, and abound: I am full, having received of Epaphroditus the things which were sent from you, an odour of a sweet smell, a sacrifice acceptable, wellpleasing to God.

Col. 3:22; Tit.2:9 3.Recognise the responsibility in earthly relationships. Servants, obey in all things your masters according to the flesh; not with eyeservice, as menpleasers; but in singleness of heart, fearing God: Exhort servants to be obedient unto their own masters, and to please them well in all things; not answering again;

Heb. 11:5, 6 4. Have faith in God. By faith Enoch was translated that he should not see death; and was not found, because God had translated him: for before his translation he had this testimony, that he pleased God. But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.

Heb. 13:16 5. Do good to others. But to do good and to communicate forget not: for with such sacrifices God is well pleased.

I Pet. 2:20 6. Prepare to suffer wrongfully. For what glory is it, if, when ye be buffeted for your faults, ye shall take it patiently? but if, when ye do well, and suffer for it, ye take it patiently, this is acceptable with God.

Conclusion: Be ye a Burnt Offering Rom. 12:1, 2 I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service. And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.
