A. Preparatory Activity: 1.Review :The teacher will give one – step directions and the pupils will follow. Stand. Jump Sit up straight. Clap your hands.

What other directions or commands can you give? What commands will you observe in school? Possible answers: Fall in line, do not shout, etc...In case there’s an earthquake, what commands/directions can you give to be observed? Examples: During An Emergency….. Don’t run. Don’t talk Duck, cover, and hold. Fall in line Don’t push. Go outside quickly and orderly. Integrate the warning signals in case an earthquake is happening.

POST EVALUATION: Beyond the Classroom Teacher and Students give short commands and directions as students respond to rehearsed emergency situation List 5 commands to be observed at home. Share what safety commands you learned if the earthquake happens or if there’s a fire to your family.

Examples: Don’t run. 4. Don’t talk. 2. Don’t push. 5. Don’t go back. 3. Stop, drop, and roll in case of fire and or smoke inhallation. Integrate in the discussion the warning signals when there’s a fire. Why do we need to follow directions or commands? What is the importance of following directions?

Generalization: There are directions and commands to be observed at home, school, and in the community. We have to follow for our safety. Application: Before the class starts, the teacher pastes pictures under specific classroom chairs. Let the pupils show the pictures and give the commands practice following directions

Group Activity: The teacher will divide the class in four and will give situations on strips of paper in the box for each group to follow examples below: Exit the building quickly 1. Don’t run.2. Hands at your back.3. Sit up straight. Duck, cover, and hold.5. Stop, drop, and roll.6. (in case of fire) Fall in line.7. Clap your hands.8. Close the window.9

EVALUATION: Teacher gives short commands and directions as each emergency action is carried out with its relavence to its specific situation Students and Teachers practice several drills to improve proficiency and accuracy until the class is well prepared
