Morning Arrival @ 8:50 Students arrive by bus and are met by teachers at the bus loop at the front of the building. As the year goes on Kindergarteners walk to the K hallway and wait in the hallway. The Kindergarten Day

Literacy Small group instruction where students work on specific strategies such as: * letter naming * initial sounds * phoneme segmentation * nonsense word fluency * pre-reading skills This instruction is tailored to support and challenge their literacy development.

Children learn to read between the ages of 4 and 7. The skills we practice daily are… Finger tracking from left to right. Letter tracing, counting and identifying. Writing and drawing responses! Speaking in sentences, asking questions, listening and taking turns.

At 3:00 dismissal students are… * brought to their buses by 5 th Grade Bus Buddy. * brought to car loop at the back of the building. * walkers meet parents and or siblings at side K door. It is VERY important to keep consistency in your child’s dismissal routine.

Upcoming Dates June 3 rd & 4th : Meet & Greet Pick up folder with appointment time before you leave (or it will be mailed to you.) 3 rd week in August: Class assignment mailed A class list, supply list and letter from you child’s teacher will be provided. Bus Orientation All K students invited to visit school in August for bus orientation.
