Where is South America? South America is to the north of Antarctica South America is between the Pacific Ocean and the Atlantic Ocean

Countries in South America There are many countries in South America The biggest country in South America is Brazil

People in South America Most people in South America speak Spanish But, in Brazil, they speak Portuguese!

Weather in South America The weather in most of South America is warm and wet. The equator goes through the middle of South America and makes it hot.

Animals in South America Many interesting animals live in the Amazon Rainforest in South America. The enormous green anaconda is the world’s largest snake and it lives in the Amazon Rainforest.

Facts about Amazonia It is in South America It is one of the greatest rainforests in the world It’s river (the River Amazon) is 3,000 miles long It spreads into many different countries including: Brazil, Colombia, Peru, Venezuela, Ecuador, Bolivia, Guyana and Surinam.

Facts about Amazonia All together it covers 1.4 billion acres of land It is home to 2.5 billion types of insects Tens of thousands of types of plants 2000 birds and mammals (animals which have babies and not eggs) 75,000 types of trees
