Screw Spring Loaded Design 1 to to 149 Through-type 50 to to 159 Two-tier 60 to to 179 Ground 80 to to 189 Fuse 90 to to 199 Accessories Example: If terminal block has label marked “4”, it is a screw connected, Through-type. The equivalent spring loaded connection would be “104”. For competitive offerings look at ALL labels marked “4”. If there is no “4” in an offering that means that it is not available or we were not comfortable with the equivalent. 3 What is a Terminal Block?
Introduction Terminal blocks are used for the space-saving connection of incoming and outgoing conductors in control systems. They are an insulating part carrying one or more mutually insulated terminal assemblies and intended to be mounted to a support. They are designed for solid, stranded and finely stranded conductors with or without end sleeves.

11 Through-Type Terminals (a.k.a. Feed-Through)
Wire Entry Common Conduction Path Wire Clamping Points Through-Type terminals get their name because there is a common conduction path between wire clamping points. Selection

12 Common Conduction Path
Two-Tier Terminals (a.k.a. Feed-through, Multi-Circuit, Multi-Level) Wire Entry Common Conduction Path Wire Clamping Points Two-Tier (a.k.a. Double Tier) terminal blocks can save up to 50% of the width required to standard Through-Type terminal blocks with one conducting path. Two-Pole designs are isolated so one current path could be AC and the other current path could be DC. Single-Pole terminals allow 4 wire terminations to a single point. Selection

13 Ground (PE) Terminals (For Connection to a DIN Rail)
Wire Entry Ground Path DIN Rail Metal Clamping Mechanism Ground terminal blocks provide electrical connection to a DIN rail that serves as a ground bus. This eliminates the need for a separate ground busbar and allows the ground terminals to be lined up with the insulated main conductor terminal and neutral isolating terminals in any required arrangement. Thus a clear relationship to the individual circuits can be established. The ground path is from the wire entry to the DIN rail via the metal clamping mechanism. The DIN rail is grounded to the metal panel or to a ground rod. Selection

14 Fuse Terminal Block Fuse Holder Fuse Wire Entry Fuse Terminals are used to protect control circuits from short circuits. They are intended for G fuse links (5 x 20 mm or 5 x 25 mm) up to 6.3 Amps, 250 V; and, for bridging links up to 16 A, 500 V. Selection

33 Terminal Block Density
Terminal Block Density is based on the Width of the Terminal Block over a Linear Measurement. The Linear Measurement is usually expressed in the number of pieces per foot or meter. Example: 8WA1011-1DG11 is 6.5 mm Wide. How many terminal blocks can we get into A) one foot and B) one meter. 1 inch = 25.4 mm; 12 inches = mm Terminals per Foot = / 6.5 = = 46 1 meter = 1000 mm Terminals per Meter = 1000 / 6.5 = = 153 Selection

Assembly Cover with warning arrow 8WA1821 8WA1822-7TK00 8WA1812 Barrier End plate Small partition End Plate – Used with Through-Type, Two-Tier and Two-Tier LED terminals. Used at the end of a terminal block run where a physical barrier is required to prevent contact with electrical Parts. Small Partition (a.k.a. Separator) – Used with Terminal Sized 2.5 through 35 to provide electrical isolation between adjacent parallel links. Small Partitions do not increase the width of the terminal group and can be fitted after the terminal group is assembles. Cover with Warning Arrow – Assist in the identification of power input terminals and provides an additional physical protection against contact with live conductors. Blank white covers are also available for in-site inscription Barrier – Barriers are yellow in color and extend 5 mm beyond the contour of the terminal block. They are used to provide visual separation between terminal groups and electric al isolation between adjacent parallel link groups. A knockout is provided to allow the use of a neutral busbar when required.

Assembly Link for upper tier 8WA1895 Bridge for links 8WA1822-7VH00 Disconnecting link 8WA1865 Link for lower tier 8WA1822-7VH20 Link for Lower Tier – Available for the common connection of 2, 3, & 10 terminals. Links are screwed into the terminals from the top and enable up to 10 terminals to be connected. Link for Upper Tier – Through-Type Tw0-Tier terminals can be linked in both the upper and lower tiers. The upper tier and the lower tier of the 2-pole terminal remain isolated even when the links are used on the lower tier. This makes it possible for two different potentials to be used on the same terminal. Bridge for Link Rail – Link bridges allow two or more link rails to be physically connected to form a c continuous path. Disconnecting Link Bridge – Allows two or more link rails to be physically disconnect without removal of the link assembly.

Tab connector, split Tab connector, split Test socket 8WA1812 8WA741 8WA1854 Assembly Test Socket – Test sockets can be fitted to Terminal Sizes 2.5, 4 & 6. The test socket allows the use of instruments with 2.3 mm diameter test plugs mm diameter test plugs are also available for customizing instrument leads. Tab Connector, Split – Allows a conductor to be affixed to the connector and inserted into the terminal wire entry funnel. Solder Tag – Allows a conductor to be soldered to the tag and inserted into the terminal wire entry funnel.
