Electricity 1. Qualification development LGSETA was appointed as Development Quality Partner for the Electrical Qualification by the QCTO(Quality Council for Trades and Occupations) The aim of the QCTO qualification development is to develop one Electrical Artisan learner Qualification for all sectors in South Africa The Curriculum has been submitted to the QCTO for consideration and registration

Capacity development(Electrical) Establishment of Municipal Training Capacity Municipal Training Centre Accreditation Technical support to Training Centre’s Establishment of Electrical working group Government Certificate of Compliance programmes Collaboration with Association of Municipal Electrical Undertakings (AMEU) to implement GCC programmes for local Government AMEU collaboration with LG Seta Electrical working group to develop Technician courses

Water The LGSeta successfully completed a National Process Controller training project Programmes focused on Water and Waste water treatment processes In total 1795 candidates were trained in 8 provinces 136 Municipalities( Water service authorities) benefitted Sustainability To ensure that Municipal training capacity is sustained: 210 Assessors trained 189 Mentors trained Qualification development The LGSeta applied to the QCTO to develop new Occupational Qualifications in the Water and Waste water sector

Environmental practices Background No formal undergraduate programme for waste management education and training existed Design of new professional courses for Waste management Collaboration with CPUT and IWMSA to establish a ISOE Funding of development of new programmes Implementation of new programmes Energy recovery processes form part of new qualifications
