Community Health Nursing Diagnosis Risk of developing lung diseases (emphysema, bronchitis and chronic airway obstruction) Among adults age 18 and older in Montcalm County Related to the high cigarette smoking rates As demonstrated by the smoking rate of 26.7% compared to 19.6% for the State of Michigan

Reducing Causative Factors Advertise health damage caused by tobacco use. Encourage smoking cessation; provide free help Reduce tobacco advertising to youth. Decrease illegal sales to under age population.
