2.  Will (protagonist)  Trainee of Halt.  Teenage  Got to be trainee because of the note in Halts quarters  Halt  trains Will  Older  Has a beard

3.  Bryn - constantly bullies Horace and beat Will up once.  Jerome - constantly bullies Horace and beat Will up once.  Alda - constantly bullies Horace and beat Will up once.  Baron Arald  Horace, Wills friend and rival (Antagonist)  Morgarath, enemy in book

4.  Horace mostly comes in conflict with Will  An example of this is in the parade when the fight broke out  They also come in conflict with the Boar which makes them become nicer to each other by Will saving Horace Protagonist and Antagonist

5. Setting  The setting takes place in the castle in the beginning.  In the middle going onto the end it is in the forest except for the last part.  The last part takes place again in the castle to receive his reward for the boar and for saving Horace.

6. Plot O Will sneaks up into the tower of Halt O Halt catches Will in the act after scaling the side of the wall. O Will admits to his mistakes and Halt sees greatness in Will. O The letter that Will was trying to steal said that Will would make a great Apprentice. O Halt trains Will to be the best Ranger possible. O Will and Halt go to the Ranger meeting O They find that people are packing up to leave O They learn that Morgarath is on the move again O Kalkara have been killing lords of castles. O Will and Halt encounter the beasts at the stones and slay them.

7. Plot(End) O The rangers, Halt and Will are going back to the cottage. They come across the tracks of a giant boar and let Baron Arald know about the threat. A killing squad with Horace is created. The first boar is killed but as the formation is broken a boar even larger than the first comes out of the cave and Horace and Will work together to defend against the boar creating friendship.
